There's been plenty of confusion about Windows 10. Much of it centres around how free it really is, but a second area of growing problem is the level of control Windows 10 may have over your personal machine.

Why? Because Windows 10 takes two major liberties with eligible cheap microsoft windows 7 and Windows 8 PCs in addition to Windows 10 beta testers:

For most users this really is a good thing.

For the very first time Windows 10 can be obtained via Windows Update and eligible Windows 7 and cheap microsoft windows 8 users that like to upgrade (either via pre-order or after release) are giving permission for Windows 10 to download automatically to your PC if it's ready.

It is a 3GB download and it will sit dormant on your PC until its official July 29th release date. You will subsequently be prompted to upgrade ?§C great news and minimum effort.

For Windows 10 beta testers there's slightly less control as the final form of microsoft windows software will automatically download and install automatically for these users. This is also great news apart from one significant unknown: to be able to down

At this time Windows 10 beta testers can return to their previous sort of Windows in a couple of clicks with all programs, data and settings kept, but Microsoft has yet to reveal if that will be possible with all the final version. Because of the company's silence around this, it seems unlikely.
